Tales of Zareen

Set in 1950s East Africa, Tales of Zareen is a heartfelt collection of short stories about an 11-year-old Persian-Indian girl discovering life, family, and identity in a changing world. Each story invites young readers into Zareen’s everyday moments, some joyful, some challenging, all deeply human.

Illustration Approach

Created in detailed vector artwork with a pencil-drawing feel, the illustrations are both soft and expressive. Using Adobe Illustrator and African colors, each scene is crafted to feel like a memory, textured, warm, and full of emotion.

Final Result

"Tales of Zareen" is a tender visual storybook that blends cultural history with the timeless lens of a child’s heart. Poetic, honest, and beautifully illustrated, it’s a tribute to family, tradition, and the small things that shape who we become.
